Sarah Farooqui (FAH-ROO-KEY) currently co-stars in IRON MAN 3 as Heather, a flight attendant on Air Force One, who gets involved in an incredible mid-air rescue operation. The extremely athletic Farooqui did all her own stunts, without the benefit of a green screen, and her work was so iconic that one of her scenes was used in the trailer which aired during the 2013 Super Bowl and the Official Release Trailers.
Farooqui also secured a leading role in the upcoming suspense thriller, AWAKENED, based on a true story about the worldwide spread of sleep paralysis.
In 2009, Farooqui shined in the television series, LOST, in the challenging role of Theresa Spencer, a patient who continually crosses time in her memories – the woman who could be the key in helping Faraday stop the island’s erratic movements through time. Farooqui’s screen presence caught the eye of director Christopher Hutson and she was cast as the lead in BLED, a horror film from executive producer Jeffrey Allard (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre).
In 2007, Farooqui made her stateside film debut as Bambi, in NINA and the MYSTERY of the SECRET ROOM (AKA ‘The Mirror’), starring Kelly LeBrock and Erin Cahill.
She also starred as Charlotte in MILE HIGH, a popular British television series about the lives of airline pilots and crew. Farooqui steamed up the lens as a sexy, tantalizingly mischievous stewardess.
Her first feature break came when she landed the role of Emily in DAVID COPPERFIELD, which starred Sally Field, Eileen Aitkins, Paul Bettany and Hugh Dancy.
Farooqui grew up in London, the daughter of an Indian Father and a German Mother. On stage from the age of 6, she made her television debut at 12, as a re-curring teenager in the popular BBC series, GRANGE HILL. She later attended Mountview Theatre School and the British Academy of Performing Arts, where she studied dance, acting, singing and literature.
Adventure seeking, she traveled the world alone and has always engaged in heart-thumping sports such as skydiving, snowboarding, shark diving, ice climbing and elephant trekking. As a self-admitted adrenalin junkie, it’s no surprise that, throughout her acting career, Farooqui has taken on challenging roles. The sultry and curvy British actress has built an eclectic resume that runs the gamut from a Victorian period piece to modern day horror.
